What is the RoHS Environmental Test?

The RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Environmental Test is an assessment conducted to comply with the environmental directive established by the European Union. This directive aims to limit the usage of hazardous substances in electronic and electrical equipment, ensuring the protection of human health and the environment.

The RoHS directive defines concentration limits for six hazardous substances: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE). These substances are commonly found in electronic and electrical equipment and possess potential risks to both the environment and human health.

At Yiteng Electric, we perform RoHS environmental testing on our plastic and metal parts to evaluate the presence of hazardous substances. Specialized laboratories are typically engaged to collect samples and utilize specific testing methods to measure the concentration of these substances. If the levels of hazardous substances in the products fall below the limits specified by the RoHS directive, the products can be considered compliant with RoHS environmental standards and can be sold and used in the European Union market.

RoHS environmental testing holds great significance for manufacturers and suppliers due to its status as a legal requirement for entering the European Union market. By conducting RoHS environmental testing, manufacturers ensure that their products do not pose potential risks to the environment and human health. Furthermore, it contributes to the enhancement of product sustainability and environmental reputation.
